HJ Love Story of Kate and Andrew

HJ-Story is a webcomic illustrated by Andrew Hou. The comic strip majorly revolves around two characters – Andrew himself, who is a Canadian-born Chinese and his wife Kate, who is Korean.

It all started back in the year 2011 when Andrew drew a series of rough sketches for his then girlfriend (now wife) as an attempt to bridge the communication gap because he was not fluent in Korean back then and expressing to his girlfriend was a herculean task for him.

Kate’s birthday was approaching and in order to make her feel special, Andrew compiled all the art into a Tumblr site as her birthday gift. He also shared his work with a few of his friends and one of whom further shared his work on Twitter.

Within a few days HJ-Story went viral across the internet, giving Andrew some serious motivation to carry forward his illustrations. Later, he also self-published a book under the brand name HJ-Story through the funds successfully raised from Kick starter.
